Shape Swarm Demo Launch and Indie Sagas Weekly Recap – January 2026

Hey everyone

Hope you’re having a great week. Things have been moving fast on our end, and this update is a good snapshot of where the studio is right now. We officially launched the Shape Swarm demo, started seeing players jump in across multiple platforms, and kicked off early work on features that will carry into the full release.

We’ve also got another solid week of Indie Sagas coverage to recap at the end of this post. Thanks, as always, for the support—it genuinely helps keep all of this moving forward.

Shape Swarm Demo Update & Indie Sagas Recap

Shape Swarm Demo Is Live

The Shape Swarm demo is officially live on Steam.

Since launch, we’ve had 96 players jump into the demo across Steam and itch.io. For a fast-paced arcade project, this early engagement is incredibly encouraging and gives us valuable insight into how players approach builds, pacing, and difficulty.

Balancing Updates

-Based on early play data and hands-on testing, we’ve rolled out several balancing updates, including adjustments to damage and fire-rate scaling, enemy survivability, and overall difficulty pacing. The goal is to keep runs tense and readable without letting players feel overpowered too early.

Builds in Sync Across Platforms

-All balancing updates are now live across platforms. The latest build is available on itch.io, reflected in the Steam demo, and live on the Digital Sagas Web Arcade. Keeping everything aligned ensures consistent feedback as more players jump in.

Extended Play Begins (Patreon First)

-We’ve officially begun work on extended play content planned for the full version of Shape Swarm. This phase focuses on longer sessions, deeper progression, and more room for experimental builds beyond the demo’s scope.

Later this week, we plan to release an early version of extended play in the Digital Sagas Web Arcade exclusively for Patreon members. This will be the first look at how Shape Swarm expands beyond the demo experience.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, be sure to check out the Shape Swarm demo on Steam and let us know what you think—every playthrough helps shape the final game.
