This week was all about planning—the quiet but crucial part of game development where systems, story beats, and worldbuilding finally lock into place. With the demo out in the wild, we shifted deeper into shaping the full game experience for No One Leaves the Field.

Expanding the World
A major focus this week was laying out all the remaining landmarks players will encounter in the main game. We officially began building the first of these—the Barn—which will serve as one of the central hubs of Act I’s progression.
But the Barn is just the beginning.
Additional new areas planned for the full experience include:
- The Pumpkin Patch — a ritual-focused zone tied closely to Halwena’s harvest themes.
- Newly opened areas inside the Farmhouse — previously inaccessible rooms will expand narrative depth and escalate tension.
- Ancient Ruins — a forgotten structure that reveals deeper truths about the land, the curse, and the Harvest Mother herself.
Each location brings new gameplay challenges and new layers of lore, helping the world feel more alive—and more haunted—than ever.
Shaping the Main Game Loop

We also refined the full game’s structure by officially breaking the narrative into four acts. Each act introduces new threats, new rituals, and new revelations as players dig deeper into the history of the farm and Halwena’s influence. This allows us to guide pacing while preserving the roguelite progression established in the demo.
Community Spotlight
We were excited to see another great community playthrough this week—this time from VTuber Mayshing_vtuber, featured during the 2025 Indie Playtest Fest. Watching these blind playthroughs helps us refine gameplay flow, improve clarity, and dial in the scares.
