After three years of building Digital Sagas, our studio has officially launched its first game.
Shape Swarm was created with a few clear goals in mind:
-
Establish our publishing catalog
-
Work through the entire Steam pipeline end-to-end
-
Launch a clean, fun arcade experience to kick off our Arcade Series

At the time of writing this, the game has sold 11 copies. It’s not a breakout hit—and that’s okay. What it is is a foundation. Every launch teaches something, and this one marks the studio’s transition from planning to shipping.
If you’d like to support the studio at this early stage, picking up a copy of Shape Swarm on Steam makes a real difference. Early supporters help establish the base we build from as we continue development on No One Leaves the Field and Lost Colony, and they also directly support the ongoing work behind the Indie Sagas site as we keep highlighting and promoting indie games each week:

We also have two early player reviews, both strongly aligned with what we hoped the game would deliver:
“This is a really neat little game. It’s basic but fun. For me it’s the perfect game for when I just want to take my mind off things and run away from some shapes for a bit… For the cost of a taco it’s worth picking up…”
“Fun simple but yet challenging game that will keep you coming back for more… I wish I had a bigger following to get this game more support.”

On top of that, the game was featured by MacGaming, which called out the adaptive enemy system as a standout element:
“Shape Swarm takes the satisfying mayhem of bullet heaven action and adds a meaningful pressure valve: enemies that adapt, not just escalate. If you like survivors-likes most when they force you to make uncomfortable choices—commit, pivot, or get overwhelmed—this one’s built around that exact feeling.”

We’ll be publishing a full postmortem next month, breaking down what worked, what didn’t, and what we’re taking forward into future releases.
