This week’s focus has been preparing Lost Colony for its upcoming marketing relaunch.
Our current demo build is nearing completion and represents a major step forward from the original version. Since the first demo released, the game has evolved significantly based on player feedback. What began as a straightforward twin-stick shooter is now a deeper action roguelite with stronger progression systems, more build variety, and a much more active role for your drone companion.

For those unfamiliar with the project:
Lost Colony is a sci-fi twin-stick action roguelite where you crash-land on a silent frontier settlement searching for parts to repair your ship—only to discover something is still alive beneath the surface.

Each run sends you deeper into a shifting abandoned colony overrun by alien creatures and rogue security drones. Along the way, you recover alien technology to upgrade your weapons, unlock new abilities, and reshape how you approach combat.
You’re not alone.
Your AI drone companion A.I.D.A. evolves alongside you during each run—scanning environments, assisting in combat, and unlocking new tactical options as you explore. In the new demo, the drone plays a much larger role than before and is central to the game’s combat strategy.
What’s New in the Upcoming Demo

This updated demo reflects a major restructuring of the game’s core loop and progression systems. Some of the biggest changes include:
-
Tech Parts Economy – Instead of swapping weapons mid-run permanently, you now collect tech parts used to upgrade your build between runs.
-
Expanded Drone Power System – A.I.D.A. can now stack multiple powerups, creating stronger combat synergies and more build variety.
-
Teleport Swap Ability – Instantly switch positions with your drone to dodge attacks and reposition during combat.
-
Roguelite Progression Structure – Runs now feed into longer-term upgrades rather than resetting completely each attempt.
-
Improved Exploration Flow – The colony layout and encounter pacing better support discovery and replayability.
Together, these changes move Lost Colony closer to the experience we originally envisioned for the full release.
Lost Colony is Digital Sagas’ flagship title, currently planned for release in 2027 🚀
