What We Worked on This Week
This was a huge milestone week for No One Leaves the Fields—we officially launched our Steam page and formally announced the game!
Alongside the announcement, development continued behind the scenes:
- Player controls have been fine-tuned to feel responsive and weighty, while keeping that slow-burn tension we’re aiming for.
- Procedural generation is being updated to not just shape the wheat fields, but also to intelligently place key story-driven assets across the map.
What’s Next
Once procedural generation is fully tuned, we’ll begin implementing:
- The formal game loop
- Level states that drive story progression (unlocking new areas and evolving the environment based on exploration milestones)
- Integration of narrative reveals as players move deeper into the farm and field
This will be the foundation for delivering the story in an organic, player-driven way—without heavy cutscenes or hand-holding.
Studio Notes
If you haven’t yet, you can now wishlist No One Leaves the Fields on Steam!
Thanks for following along—we’re just getting started.
