No One Leaves the Field Demo – Controller Support, Unity 6 Upgrade, and What’s Next

This week focused on refinement and readiness for No One Leaves the Field. The latest No One Leaves the Field demo now includes full controller support and smoother gameplay across devices.

We added full controller support, making the demo smoother for players who prefer gamepads. Setting it up meant rebalancing look sensitivity between mouse and controller, testing aim acceleration, and tuning input smoothing until both felt natural. The goal was simple—make sure every movement feels right no matter how you play.

We also spent time on polish and QA. Small changes made big differences: tighter interaction timing, improved sound cues, and slower fades that build tension.

On the technical side, the game now runs on the latest Unity 6.0 release. This update improves lighting, physics performance, and includes an important security fix for a recent vulnerability. The upgrade should make future builds more stable and efficient.

The Steam Demo Page is complete, and the build is currently under review. Once approved, we plan to publish it shortly after Next Fest. The main Steam page also received updated visuals and new text to match the direction of the demo. Localized versions in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese will be updated soon.

In the meantime, the demo is live now on Itch.io — play it here:

What Comes Next

With the demo finished, the next stage begins: full game development.
We’re expanding the procedural field system, deepening the family’s story, and adding new rituals, encounters, and endings. The Scarecrow’s AI will evolve too, reacting more intelligently and unpredictably.

Every bit of feedback from the demo helps guide these changes. If you’ve played it, thank you — your impressions and theories about the curse are shaping the harvest ahead. 🌾
