Hearts Gone Black is a top-down survival horror game set years after a failed experiment changed humanity forever. The dead now walk with black hearts, abandoned rural communities have become hunting grounds, and the remaining survivors are struggling to make it through one more day.
You are not entering this world as a chosen hero. You are simply one of the few people still alive.
Survival requires more than killing infected creatures. Players must scavenge abandoned homes, gather and mine resources, craft equipment, grow food, research upgrades, and strengthen a shelter against both the infected and hostile survivors.
The people living at your base also have needs. Hunger, thirst, health, energy, morale, and sanity can all affect the group. Survivors can be assigned to different stations, but limited supplies mean every resource spent in one area may leave another dangerously neglected.
Dynamic weather and environmental conditions add another layer of pressure. Even a successful supply run can leave the group injured, exhausted, or mentally worn down.
What Makes Hearts Gone Black Worth Watching
The scale of its survival systems immediately stands out. The game is planned to include more than 300 items spread across crafting, cooking, farming, research, and storage systems.
Players can also deploy barricades, traps, and gadgets while preparing for horde attacks and endgame base-defense events. Five difficulty tiers are planned for those larger survival challenges.
Its most interesting ideas, however, may be the moral choices surrounding survival and sacrifice. Hearts Gone Black is not only asking how long players can remain alive. It is asking what they may become while trying.

The Crimson Contract

In The Crimson Contract, quarantine zones have fallen, the infected continue to spread, and the people responsible for controlling the disaster are running out of options. Players enter these compromised zones as contracted mercenaries tasked with completing dangerous missions and recovering valuable resources.
Contracts can be attempted alone or with a squad. Each mission becomes a struggle between greed and survival as players decide whether to push farther into the quarantine zone for better rewards or extract before the infected overwhelm them.
You begin with basic equipment, but successful missions provide opportunities to unlock stronger weapons, abilities, support options, and increasingly destructive loadouts. The threats waiting inside the zones become more dangerous as well.
What Makes The Crimson Contract Worth Playing
The Crimson Contract combines extraction-shooter risk with the escalating chaos of a horde game. Every contract has the potential to become a desperate last stand as infected enemies increase in number and intensity.
Its co-op design encourages squads to coordinate attacks, rescue overwhelmed teammates, and adapt when carefully prepared plans collapse. Solo players can still enter the quarantine zones, but surviving without backup may require a much more cautious approach.
There is also a mystery buried beneath the gunfire. The outbreak may not have been an accident, and contracts gradually reveal clues about the cover-up and the people responsible.

Nowhere Dawn is a survival action game set in a collapsed world where once-familiar cities and towns have been abandoned to the infected.
Roads, forests, ruined buildings, and forgotten communities still contain traces of the people who lived there. Moving through these locations is not simply a matter of reaching the next objective. Players must follow the evidence left behind and piece together what happened after society fell.
