This week’s Wishlist Wednesday covers three very different corners of the indie scene: a cozy ocean-island automation game, a colorful throwback platformer, and a restaurant tycoon already running in Early Access. We picked them because each puts a distinct spin on a familiar genre. (Game details verified August 4, 2026.)
🐟 FishOmatic

Developer: 2BitCouchGames, Radiobush · Release: Coming soon

FishOmatic is an automation game that emphasizes the satisfaction of building a machine and watching it run rather than racing against constant pressure. You build a fish-processing operation on a quiet ocean island, scout the sea for new fishing spots, and send robot companions out to haul and process the catch.
What stands out is the deliberate lack of pressure. Steam’s accessibility info lists it as playable without timed input, and the developer describes it as a gentle, beginner-friendly loop with no steep learning curve. For players who find larger factory games overwhelming, FishOmatic appears designed as a gentler entry point.
What Makes It Worth Watching
- Automation framed as relaxation rather than optimization anxiety
- Robot helpers that take over tasks automatically
- Open-ocean scouting for new fishing locations
- Grow and reshape your island factory at your own pace
- No timed-input requirements, with the ability to save at any time

🐷 Oby Adventure

Developer: Oby’s Farm · Steam release: Q1 2027 (expected)
Oby Adventure is a colorful, classic-style 2D platformer inspired by the platformers of the 1990s and 2000s. You play Oby, a pig on a mission to recover the lost shards of an artifact and save the Fruitimal Kingdom from the returning darkness of Draco.

The hook is a low-barrier entry point: a demo is available on Steam now, and the game is already out on mobile, where the first world is free to play with optional premium unlocks for the rest. Both versions emphasize handcrafted platforming, exploration, and racing challenges, while the Steam page also highlights hidden rooms, boss encounters, timed challenges, and online leaderboards. The full Steam release is planned for Q1 2027.
What Makes It Worth Watching
- Two ways to try it before launch: a Steam demo and a free first world on mobile
- Hidden rooms and secrets for players who explore off the path
- Boss fights plus racing and time-trial leaderboard challenges
- Levels designed around timing and precise platforming
- A full release planned for Steam in Q1 2027

🍽️ Mattami Restaurant & Cafe Tycoon

Developer: Athomield Games · Status: Early Access since July 29, 2026
Mattami Restaurant & Cafe Tycoon is a detailed management game that starts you with a tiny, humble place and hands you unusual control over the details. You schedule staff, manage inventory, build and decorate your spaces, discover recipes, and even haggle in the market for cheaper appliances and ingredients.

What makes it worth a look is how much control it gives you over both the business and the physical restaurant, from staff schedules and inventory to furniture placement and decoration. The developer also promises that no two in-game days will play exactly alike. It’s actively in development (recent updates added multiple save slots and interface improvements), so it’s a title you can either buy into now or follow as it grows. Launched at $12.99, with an introductory discount running at the time of writing.
What Makes It Worth Watching
- Detailed staff, schedule, and inventory management
- Build and customize spaces to match your own style
